About The Judas Kiss Dramatic love story, The Judas Kiss hits the stage at The Duke of York Theatre in January 2013. The Judas Kiss follows the story of Oscar Wilde and his trials and tribulations in love and lust. It is 1895 and Wildes masterpiece, The Importance of Being Earnest, is playing in the West End after a triumphant premiere, but already the wheels are in motion which will lead to his imprisonment, downfall and vilification. Forced to make a choice between his lover, Lord Alfred Douglas, and his freedom, the ever romantic Wilde embarks on a course towards self-destruction. Wilde is played by Hollywood actor, Rupert Everett who shot to fame after appearing in the stage production of Another Country. Since then Everett has shone in many big-budget movies, including My Best Friends Wedding, The Importance of Being Earnest and St Trinians.
