About Spamalot After a spectacular summer in the West End, Spamalot transfers to The Playhouse Theatre, London to continue its success. Originally scheduled to be a six week limited run, the production has been extended after a hugely positive reaction from audiences. From the 14th November 2012 to the 13th April 2013, guests can enjoy the hilariously jaunty show on Spamalot theatre breaks in London. Based on 1975 hit film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Spamalot, London is filled with a host of comedy scenes and some well-known songs from the original movie. Follow King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table in their quest to find the renowned relic. With music and lyrics written by original Monty Python member, Eric Idle, including witty favourite, “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life,” guests enjoying a Spamalot theatre break can sing along and get lost in the humour. The first production of Spamalot, London opened in 2005 and went on to win the Tony Award for Best New Musical, while the subsequent 2006 reproduction held the stage of the Palace Theatre for more than two years. This new production has featured household name, Jon Culshaw as King Arthur, with ex-Eastender Todd Carty and Bonnie Langford also performing.
