Lisa Krons autobiographical play Well is about the relationship between Kron and her mother.Lisa is a New York performance artist who used to be very ill. Her mother is a middle American housewife who healed her racially divided neighbourhood, but just cant get well herself. Lisas trying to tell us about it, but it turns out that putting your attention-averse mother onstage with you is a really bad idea.Writing her mother into her play seems to be going a step too far, and soon the stage is set for a riveting mother-daughter showdown, as Lisas well planned show collapses into an explosion of riotous comedy and heartbreaking home truths.
