Directed by Stephen Langridge and composed by Harrison Birtwistle, The Minotaur Opera will be making its debut at The Royal Opera House on the 17th, 24th and 26th January. With our The Minotaur tickets and hotel breaks youll be blown away by this dramatic production. The main character in the production is The Minotaur himself; he is half-bull half-man and has been imprisoned in a labyrinth on Crete. To repay old debt, young men and women are sacrificed to him each year and its up to the heroic Theseus to try and end the bloodshed. Female lead Ariadne hopes she can help Theseus find a way out of the damning labyrinth and escape the wrath of the Minotaur. With our The Minotaur tickets and hotel breaks you can see the dramatic reimagining of this Greek myth. The inner turmoil of The Minotaur is clear to see as he strives to discover his true identity and voice. Audiences are shown both sides of The Minotaurs personality. Initially, he is seen as a monster that gores his victims, but as The Minotaur Opera progresses, he shows his human side by acquiring speech in dreams and expressing himself through the medium of poignant monologues. The set designs from Alison Chitty help to convey the dark and dramatic undertones of this production as the labyrinth is transformed into an amphitheatre like space. Language: Sung in English with surtitles. The Minotaur Theatre Breaks always includes tickets with hotel accommodation, and the number of tickets you request must be the same as the number of hotel guests. Our selection of shakespeare plays and hotel packages are fantastic value, enjoy the perfomance.
