    King John Theatre Break Package

As part of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad the World Shakespeare Festival celebrates Shakespeare’s international appeal through a series of new and traditional productions. King John stands as one of the plays in the Nations at War series, exploring the struggle for power as King John’s claim to the throne is challenged by France.

King John is a tense political drama as the King fights to save his seat at any costs. Following the death of his brother Richard the Lion Heart, John is made King, but his dead brother’s wife is fighting for her son, Arthur, to be named King and aligns herself with France. As family conflicts embed themselves in political powers soon the country is at war.

King John is directed by Maria Aberg, who has previously directed for the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Royal Court, Soho Theatre and the Southwark Playhouse.

King John will play at The Swan Theatre from the 6th April to the 15th September 2012.

King John Theatre Breaks always includes tickets with hotel accommodation, and the number of tickets you request must be the same as the number of hotel guests.
