American Idiot - Edinburgh Theatre Break

Based on the Green Day album of the same name the award winning American Idiot the musical brings its tour to the UK. The Edinburgh Playhouse is host to American Idiot the musical from the 22nd to the 27th Oct 2012.

Premiering at the Berkeley Repertory Theatre in California in 2009 American Idiot the musical transferred to Broadway in 2010 where it won the Tony Awards for Best Scenic Design of a Musical and Best Lighting Design of a Musical alongside a Grammy for the Best Musical Show Album. The show features all the songs from Green Days Grammy award winning American Idiot album as well as songs from their 8th album 21st Century Breakdown and a number of B tracks.

Set in the recent past American Idiot the musical tells the story of three friends who are trying to find their place in a post 9/11 world. Trapped in the banality of suburbia the friends struggle to chase their dreams and face the harsh truths of reality.

American Idiot the musical features the hit songs Boulevard of Broken Dreams, 21 Guns, Wake Me Up When September Ends, Holiday and Good Riddance (Time of Your Life).
