One of literatures favourite characters Robin Hood is given a new twist in the Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of The Heart of Robin Hood. Written by RSC associate Director David Farr the Heart of Robin Hood is a show for the whole family to enjoy. In the shadows of Sherwood Forrest Robin Hood and his band of merry men rob the rich who dare to travel through the woods, but by not sharing their profits with the poor they are unloved and resented. Struggling with high taxes and treated unfairly by the sly Prince John, who is trying to steal the crown from his brother King Richard, it is up to Maid Marion to protect the poor and convince Robin he must listen to his heart if they are to save the country. With familiar characters and an iconic story turned on its head The Heart of Robin Hood is a fantastic swashbuckling adventure. The Heart of Robin Hood runs at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre from the 18th November 2011 to the 7th January 2012 as part of the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Winter Season. You can only purchase tickets for The Heart of Robin Hood with hotel accommodation, and the number of tickets you request must be the same as the number of hotel guests. The Heart of Robin Hood is suitable for children aged 5 and over.
