A Tender Thing Theatre Break Package
|
Written by Ben Power A Tender Thing is adapted from Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. Playing as part of the World Shakespeare Festival A Tender thing tells an imaginative story that explores the lives of Romeo and Juliet if they had married and lived to an old age together. Using dialogue from the original play combined with words from Shakespeare’s sonnets Power’s adaptation cleverly brings out the love the two might have shared. As Juliet is dying she recalls her past memories, triumphs, and falls while Romeo watches his love dying and tries to appease her pain they realise they cannot live without one another. Directed by Helena Kaut-Howson A Tender Thing will play at the Swan Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon from the 27th September to the 20th October 2012. Kathryn Hunter will reprise her role of Juliet. A Tender Thing Theatre Breaks always includes tickets with hotel accommodation, and the number of tickets you request must be the same as the number of hotel guests.
